This is my first serious attempt at normal map projection, I'm having trouble with the lower section of the wall (as you'll soon notice). I am also looking for feedback if anyone has any. Thanks. Low is 2 tris and the High is 1420
Hi How can I do in 3dsmax to expand the Shell I did for the body where I applied the alpha black tattoo here ... in order to be more distant along the normals of the polygons? if I usually expand it gets intruding and clipping ...
Hi, when I bake my normals in marmoset they look strange, but for the same mesh some maps are looking quite good, and other look like this; any ideas ?
I've turned on backface culling in maya and tried reversing the normals on the faces with issues, but nothing is working. Everytime i export to unity my model is always missing faces.
That bottom flap can be sewn, a head is usually mapped like this (not mine): There are many problems that can be going on with that seam. You may not have the verts sewn, you may have smoothing errors, you may have the green channel flipped (in the normal map), you may have the incorrect setting in maya for the normal map…
okay i'm sure this has been covered a millllllllion times but i think my question is a special unique snowflake. i baked the normals from a hi poly to a low poly object in max, and the viewport displays it blocky, but it renders fine... what's going on?:poly122:
Ok, so I am making some poly planes with alpha hair textures, I was wondering if there is a good way to to go about making the normal maps so that it wont look horrible? When I tried it last the hair ended up looking splotchy and awkward.
Been having this problem with all of my models when I try to create normal maps. I don't know if its my settings or something else. Please help. Below image is a screen capture of the low, and high poly model. Below is a render of my problem.
I've searched around for an fix to my problem, but I cant seem to find anything. When I bake my normal map, it appears as if the lines from my low poly mesh are visable in the map http://imgur.com/a/VSylH Any idea of what could be causing this?
