I've tried my hand at 3d scanning (photogrammetry) recently. I still have some ways to go, but i ran into a bit of a roadblock after experimenting a bit with the whole process. To clarify things i don't have any problems with decimating, unwrapping and baking because that workflow is all to familiar to people who work with…
For those of you who have been hiding under a rock, a few days ago Polycount officially withdrew from the Dominance War contest. Despite the bad news, the Polycount community was given some good news that we'll be hosting our very own contest. Since the announcement was made, we've worked hard to get this this contest off…
After watching the movie I was left puzzled WTF is so interesting about it (other than the obnoxious voice of that woman and them focussing too much on the combat aspect of the game) but then again I read "cock" with a short o. It's not spelled couck after all. Not too sure on this myself but an X nerd told me the Khaak…
Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to finally unveil my completed game environment! This is a small-scale reimagining of the iconic Roundtable Hold from Elden Ring. My goal was to improve and demonstrate my skills. I introduced archways with statues (inspired by the original concept art), as well as a grand staircase with a runner…
This was a fun little project. In fact I think this is my first fully completed character. Far from perfect, really learned a lot while working on this guy. Enjoy ! p. s. he's supposed to have a rocke strapped to his back but i havent finished texturing that yet
Dunno about the tower it feels soft and wonky, i would just split it into parts. I dont get this working from 1 piece workflow, its ok for blocking out, but awful and time wasting for final polish. Just start with a square made into polymesh, pick the insert primitive or insert cube brush if you are on older zbrush version…
I think your model is great. I could totally see that being used in a game. The thing about models for games is, an art director wont be as harsh about something as people here will be. Here people will criticize every little detail about your model, and that will help you improve future models, learn what to do and what…
The first piece looks like its been passed through one too many photoshop filters..the second piece is the same way..it makes the pieces look really muddy. I would completely ditch using the filters...they are not making your work look any better Zbrush hero sculpt look very soft and unfinished Cosmo canyon is…
These are some good replies. thanks very much. @AimBiz: Really helpful stuff! Since I'm not working on one layer, I can't really see the whole thing until much further in the process, and something I'm rendering out now might be underneath moss or something by the end, which is pretty useless. I'll definitely do more…
So here I like to share with you all the nice guys of polycount land, my new Snow full!! environment. this part of the game take place at the mountain picks, the game is 3rd person action (mainly a hack and slash one) that will be released in the near/far future!! So I think the pipeline has been talked over here and there…
