Hi, I've created a normal map from a heightmap using nvidia plugin in Photoshop. But now when I render it in the scanline render of Max it doesn't look good. Those 8 rectangles shouldnt be protruding. I've done it in nvidia plugin with invert Y activated, I think this is the right way to do it for max. Apparently the…
[ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw5qgVp0jng[/ame] I just saw this tonight with my wife; if you consider yourself to be any kind of animal lover, conservationist, or human, I really recommend watching this and getting friends and family to watch it. The film is about a cove in Japan where thousands of dolphins are…
Hi guys, I've been to this site: https://github.com/KhronosGroup/OpenCOLLADA/wiki/OpenCOLLADA-Tools I downloaded the 64 bit version of OpenCOLLADA for 3ds Max [2009-2014]. It only downloads a file called 'COLLADAMx.dle'. There is no installer or anything? I've tried copying the file into the plugins folder at this path: C:…

Recently, I've begun a sort of reboot of an old character I created in Max a while back. Originally started out looking like a Foghorn Leghorn clone, although after studying some biker gear and actual roosters, I changed the design around a bit... See what you think: "Stan" 2009 "Stan" 2011 Progress So far, I've been told…
Blender displays particles of non-hair particle systems as spheres by default. I'm sorry if I'm suggesting something you've already done but double-check all of your particle systems to see if there's an extra unconfigured one. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say it's the ParticleSettings.001 listed below the Groom one—can…
Deco brush actually works pretty nicely in my case! Not ideal but a lot better than erasing and trying to do something with that. Layers and morph target would probably be the way to go, but in the project im currently working on I missed that chance a long time ago, tho I have to keep that in mind. It might work if I…
I finally found some time to continue working on this model. I finished the low poly. I can probably still optimize it allot but i want to continue with the uv's. I have 50000 polys so far. @ kanga, thnx for your reply, i am not sure what you find weird with the feet, i didn't flatten the feet in one of the screen captures…
True, but does that still translate into a better life? After I was laid off in 2009 and had to move from Southern California back to Indiana, I was able to live almost as well in Indiana as I did in Southern California even after taking an almost $40,000 pay cut as I worked odd jobs to pay for continuing education to…
One thing I'd look at is that you've made a tangent between the top of the throne and the weapon in the foreground. It reduces the illusion of depth and it draws a lot of attention, especially because it's a high contrast area. James Gurney wrote a few things on his blog about it if you want to take a look.…
