draw, draw, draw. every free moment that you have just pick up a pen and paper and draw something. it'll take you about a thousand drawings to produce a good one, so you just have to get those out of the way first. books i've studied from are "Rapid Viz" by Kurt Hanks and Larry Belliston "Constructive Anatomy" by George B.…
My daily routine has changed quite a bit during this last month. I bought several books in the internet, drawing lessons, animal anatomy, drawing the clothed figure... and a drawing pad. So I'm drawing almost full time. I'm improving quite fast! I spent the day today studying drapery and folds, drawing like 5 or 6 examples…
Damn, such amazing work. I wish I could draw/texture like that... Have you ever tried drawing with a mouse? I don't have a tablet (because I haven't really needed one), and every time I try to draw/paint something its just horrible. Is a drawing tablet necessary for creating high quality handpainted textures?
It's been said a million times before but if you want to learn how to draw, just draw from life. If there's a community college near you I can guarantee you can find a life drawing class that's not that expensive and they work wonders. say a charachter has a shirt. the body mesh under the shirt would not need rendered so I would delete the polys under the shirt wich would leave two floaty arms which would be more draw cells. When would the benifite of doing this out way creating more draw cells?
I need to start drawing more....a lot more. I'm pretty much starting from the beginning and I would love critiques. I'm going to start out by studying the head. Drawing skulls, drawing from pictures and occasionally doodle to develop my own style. So to start things off: Edit: Got rid of crappy doodle.
