Hello all, I'm trying to create a Colour ID map for Painter, but for the life of me I can't figure it out... I've set the different material colours in Blender, and in the Test Render it appears as I want it, but when I try and bake them to an image they turn out like this: (UVs are just a Smart Unwrap and the mesh has…
Are you using the "Bake high poly vertex colors" option? The way I bake my ID mesh (probably not the most efficient way) Is that I color-code the high poly by each material then bake the vertex colors and make the resulting image my ID map.
Hey everyone, I'm currently creating a character in zbrush and after using an alpha map for his jacket's zipper I was wondering if there was a way to color ID the zipper itself. I tried masking by cavity but the result isn't very clean. Not sure if it possible but that'd make the texturing part much easier :p Thanks in…
I've been working with UE4 for quite some time and one issue that really gets on my nerves is Modo's erratic FBX behaviour. I run 10.1 and no matter what version I choose (2015 or 2013) when I save my mesh it rerranges IDs order and all my materials inside UE get screwed. Is there a fix for this?
Hi guys. I made a macro that automates the creation of clown maps inside Zbrush. The macro assigns polygroups to all your subtools and converts the polygroups to polypaint. I thought this might help others when baking their ID maps. Later, Alex
hi, I'm currently about to start my texturing process for a project. One of the main issues I've had is generating a high quality ID map; I've been using the Maya Transfer maps method which just takes ages and can be time consuming. Could it be the settings I'm using or is there a better and faster method? thanks
Apply the material to the new object before attaching. This will prevent the Attach Options dialog from appearing and modifying your Material IDs. (I'm assuming that by FaceID you mean Material ID, since you are dealing with materials.)

I attached them together using…
