I gtg do stuff so I don't have a lot of time to critique at the moment, hopefully others come by to chime in too; - your busts are well sculpted, but the hair really lets them down. Needs more strands, and on one of the busts the hair is floating off the scalp. Lighting could be better. - portfolio not very focused or…
Is that the same code used for the turn to mesh modifier? I think Neox is referring to the fact you don't explicitly force 3 sided faces by just converting to mesh from the right click - which can and does lead to edges being turned when imported into various apps and leaves you with busted normal maps.
The remeshing process most likely busted the UVs I'm very impressed that they're as unfucked as they are tbh so I salute whoever implemented the remeshing. Im not familiar with blender but it may be possible to reproject UVs from the original mesh onto your remeshed version - it would be possible in Maya and maybe possible…
Walt Disney himself was a republican who hated unions, communists, and jews. Here is some reading about the formation of the animators unions: https://twitter.com/lysandraws/status/1280660242557046784 https://jacobinmag.com/2017/11/disney-animators-strike-union-busting…
You mentioned you have to learn rigging in Max as well. Did they specify a bones rig or Character Studio/CAT? Learning to create a human rig with bones would take longer. With that along with modelling/UVing, and as you mention the holidays getting in the way, you would really have to bust ass and hardly get any sleep.
I really hope they bust out some rainbow 6 or something after this. this kinect shit is awful, looks like a terrible on the fly rotoscope of your silhouette, like a slightly more advanced eye toy. Its to the point of feeling physically awkward sitting here watching this, its like watching the office, except horrible.
update... he is coming along now.. taking a bit more time than I wanted but i think taking my time and making sure it is good is definitely worth it. @Texelion... thanks i did as you suggested.. attached the head to the bust and then i rotated the ear. the hands still need tons of love but they are coming aswell
I want to take part but my boss is talking about making me full time instead of 3 days a week so that would mean less time for game art but more money for doing corporate 3D design . Im gonna have to bust out something cool in my spare time I guess.
Try and do bust sculpts for a while. If you develop your understanding of anatomy in one area it may give a boost to your ability to understand others. Also do yourself a favor and buy some books on anatomy (check here for some suggestions. Try Bridgman for a more artistic perspective and Peck for a more clinical one).
while it could be done in zbrush (saw a demo of it on some site) i would rather print the object or cut it up into it's pieces to avoid undercuts and problems with making molds and go that route. I have made molds for everything from statues, mini busts to smaller objects. The less undercuts and stuff like that the better…
