I am using the standard brush set to Zadd. It raises polys fine. But the tooth will act as a sort of mask and push the mesh away from the tooth (like in the picture above) regardless of what brush I use. I am trying to find a setting that will disable this. -OR- a workaround. Further note I have not placed a mask of any…
Hello :) I'm fairly new to Zbrush, still experimenting and discovering new applications, and tweaks. I'm sorry if it souns silly but i'm here to find help after all. I must say i'm kind of "lost" when it comes to start a project, because i don't really know the "typical" way to achieve the final work through different…
got any local go kart tracks? those things are killer and have good membership discounts... a great way to blow off some steam and meet all walks of life photography classes would be cool imo or sculpture... keep your mind off work but still art related enough to maintain well lubricated creative gears a turnin' you're in…
Touchy topic, it's a little hard giving advice for this kind of stuff because a lot rides on it and everyone has biases one way or another. So i'll try to give my view on art schools (I go to AI San Diego) as unbiased as possible, with what little comprehension of the big picture (going through school and landing a job)…
Thanks.Sempoo it hard to find mtf values for cheap lenses. looks like nobody cares to measure. I took my info from imaging-resource.com before but after it had been sold it all gone from there. There are a few cheap manual lenses around currently . like TTArtisan 23 mm…
Normally I bag on 90% of the game art schools around. The great ones are well known enough to speak for themselves but are really expensive and hard to get into but offer some great tips, connections and with a 95% placement rating people beat down their door to go. However their numbers are a bit skewed. Their high post…
Let me start of with a quote from Murdoc [ QUOTE ] This isn't a rant, Max is fine, but modeling is a pain in the ass, it takes 3-4 steps to do one thing when it only takes 1-2 steps in XSI/Maya. [/ QUOTE ] I am trying to go back to 3Ds max again after 4 years of using Maya. I started in Max in school and I do believe it…
Awesome! I'm gonna go down there and see if I find a short term let (dont mind a hovel if it's just for a while) with a private landlord or something, so if I do I might be up for some kind of flat/house share in the future. I just have a feeling if I go with a bigger estate agent, they'll lock me into a 12+ month contract.
That brings up a good point. Has anyone here ever worked in both fields? I'd love to hear the pros vs cons of each. But from my experience, I find the architecture industry to be sterile and soulless. Maybe if I worked in some kind of cutting edge, exciting design firm I'd be happier, but still, I'm just not crazy about…
Hi guys, a Mari newbie here. I'm currently studying a course in 3D design, and this is our first couple of weeks on Mari. I'm having a bit of an issue with my normal maps, and sometimes I've noticed these tutorial videos leave out key steps in which wind up messing me up later on. So. I've set a normal map for my tiled…
