Hi all, Looking for a way to render ambient occlusion in Arnold as part of my main render pass. I don't want it to render AO and colour in two seperate passes, but just in a combined render output. Any ideas?
I never used arnold and displacement maps. I decided to create something more freely from my mind to test some basic features. Food is an easy and fun way to shape any crazy shit that came to our minds, so... here it is! thi ng

I know Arnold has the bake to texture function but i'm wondering if it's possible to bake in different passes like specular, ambient light, direct light, diffuse, so I can composite in PS later. I'm used to that in Turtle renderer but Turtle can't bake PBR materials. Any clues? Thanks!
Hi, i would like to apply my normal map painted in substance painter but these jaggy edges happens, why ? i exported from substance with arnold ai standard surface presets and yet i have these results. Maps are baked hi poly to low poly in substance also.
bit of a long shot . but I know some of the guys on the forum live in nottingham. Just wondered if anyone could give me any info on Arnold as I heard it's a bit rough in places and I was thinking of moving there. Seems ok on the whole but there are bits 0f the town where lots of chavvy kids seem to hang around.
So I applied the map and this is what happens: Arnold subdivision is set to Catclark. Not sure why its so weird? It's very much effected by the edge loops going across the wall face but not sure why it would have such an effect? Why are some faces bumpier than others? I also tested it on a flat plane but it works fine.…
Saw this over at CGTalk: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Changes-to-Rendering-in-3DS-Max-2018.html "Customers will have access to the Arnold renderer for foreground processing within 3ds Max 2018." What is meant by "foreground processing"? :/ Daf
Hey guys, I'm new to Maya and Arnold and am having issues getting my animations to finish rendering. They just stop rendering and the logs don't seem to have anything to say about it... they just stop without logging any errors. They usually make it about 20 - 30 frames before stopping. I've checked the frame range in…
So I have this weird issue when trying to render glass in Arnold, and I'm not really sure what's causing it. When I render, I got some kind of "artifacts"- When I smooth the mesh, those "artifacts" disappear- Anyone has an idea what's causing it, and how to remove those artifacts from the unsmoothed version? I use…
