Hello! A bit about me: I'm an aspiring 3D Artist. I have mostly focused on environments for games, and I have been looking for the time and motivation to work on characters (from design, to fully textured). Due to my qualifications, I also have experience in animation and also sound design to an extent. Since I am still…
Hope Everyone is enjoying there weekend! Here I'm working on a project for class that will be complete in roughly 3 weeks and some screenshots of the work as of this moment. I haven't had much time to post my earlier progress, but do have a PDF to show the progress of the project with notes of struggles I came across and…
Holy moly, no progress bar? no UI? Sorry, I know beggars can't be choosers. Don't know how long this is supposed to take. Did I just hang max, or is it just taking a while to process? I imagine the latter, but how long is long? Guess I'll just have to wait it out, or End Process on it.
Sure. But you’re just starting out, with zero experience. It may seem like an indirect course, but at this point you don’t know what you don’t know. Trying to create a game on your own, from scratch, is bound to be a frustrating experience. Using an already-functional game will allow you to learn via situational progress.
it's mainly because this seems to give you more functions: Post Process Editor User Guide I wanted to overlay film grain & scratches using a post processing material my original intent was to have kismet modify the post process effect during a silent hill-like transition I'm working on but things have turned out so…
I've started my own small studio here in Florida and will be documenting the entire process of developing a new iOS title. I have set up a new Facebook page, a Youtube page for video tutorials on developing assets/workflow and a Wordpress blog to kind of compile all of this progress onto one blog. Please feel free to check…
Hey All. What methods does everyone use for preparing a blank slate for a new project in UE4? with regards to Post Process settings, .ini file changes or any other settings pre-setup. I used to disable Auto Exposure to remove the inconsistency of the lighting in the scene but I have come across problems with tweaking the…
Hi all, I'm new to the polycount forum - the quantity and quality of information/tutorials available here is great! Loving it! I've been working in 3D in the film industry for a few years so I know my way around 3D packages but have a few questions regarding shading and texturing and how these areas translate into games,…
Work In Progress (WIP) An artist uploads images and text periodically as they work on a new piece of art. They ask viewers for critique: commentary on what is working well versus what needs improvement. The artist uses this feedback to improve their artwork, and post the next in-progress image. This is repeated until the…
Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a puzzle game project in Unreal Engine 5, but I’ve hit a wall regarding the overall look of my environments. I have three main areas I'm working on: * The Lobby * Egg Puzzle Room * Water Puzzle Room * 4. Puzzle Technically the gameplay works, but visually the scenes feel "flat" and…
