If I wanted to generate a spaghetti like weave, but with the individual models moving in random directions in x, y and z how might I go about that? I feel like modeling it might take too long so I was thinking a procedural or coded approach might work best. I'm looking to generate thin, tube like structures with possibly…
Hi everyone. I've created a shader override for maya in vp2 with Zebra Curvature clay reflection line and drafta Analysis to better understand the surface continuity. For anyone want a good 3d model this is a must ot have. https://youtu.be/PwiVDEOUQxI The link on my gumroad on video description on youtube.
Hi everyone, I'm posting this on behalf of Art Exponent team. We are currently working on our first indie project - Curzon Line. We would like to share some progress we've done so far. The scope of this project is pretty insane considering the three-person team. Thus, why we leverage third-party assets whenever we can.…
Hi all, I was wondering if it's possible to use the Sculpt Geo Tool in Maya to snap the vertices of a mesh to the live mesh? The result would be something like Max's Conform brush I guess. Ideally I need a way to snap all vertices in a fast way to the live mesh. Right now however, the problem is that whenever I…

So with Substance designer I've got access to the B2m Lite, but had wanted to know the technical differences between the two. In a way I suppose, I am just wondering if its worth grabbing, and if anyone actually uses it past the basics you get with b2m lite. Though for $25 I might just grab it anyway.. would still like to…
@jcourtc Hey there , I've only a couple of further thoughts that might be useful cos looks like just about everything one can suggest as constructive feedback has already been shared. Anyhow art in my humble opinion amongst other things is highly subjective, where one man's/woman's trash can be another's treasure....etc,…
Hey all, would love to hear your opinion on this. Very often I see people floating geo like on the left side of the image. It's fast to put out quick normal maps, it's simple. The cost of doing that is that the floating lines don't really have any bevel and look way too sharp. Now that's easily fixed by just extruding…
Yep its always painful to hack out work but that's what story boards and planning are for. It happens less and less, the more you plan and the less you animate straight away. It's easier to hack out a few 2D scribbles than it is to cut out hours of work. They don't need to be anything pretty and no one needs to see them.…
