Long time ago I saw a video where a game developer had his camera very close to an object in a scene, the wireframe was enabled so we could see the polygons, then he started to move away from the object and it's polygon count started to decrease in real time, for optimization I believe. Sorry if I couldn't explain myself…
So, what does the our world look like to a 1 millimetre tall alien? Here's some reference photo's I took recently that may give you an idea: This is probably the closest i'm going to get to a grass blade without a microscope: On the surface of most plants there are little hairs called Trichomes. Also, the common repeating…
is there a way to disable back face culling on multiple objects in Marmoset Toolbag? Because the hair strands for my character are invisible on the inside. I have over 500+ hair cards and there is no way I am disabling them one by one. I have seen someone propose a solution of merging the asset as one object but I am not…

I've just put my Alienware laptop up on ebay, and thought I'd post it here in case anyone is interested - I'd rather sell to someone I know than Singaporean credit card scammers. It's a pretty kickass machine, but my new company is mostly an Apple shop and they've set me up with a MacBook Pro, so I don't have much need for…
Great work, Uly. I really enjoy the lighting and don't find it overblown. The assets are also real cool. If I were forced to complain I would say, that the whole scene looks a tad empty asset-wise. I see that you primary reference looks this way, but you're making a portfolio piece and if I was working at a company,…
