Hi; I have some simple meshes with vertex paint on it (colour and alpha). The problem is when I collapse the modificators and get simple edit poly and then select something then settings from polygon: vertex colors overwrite my painting!? Erase it? Im using only select & move tool (in my case A shortcut, I thought…
Hey Guys! :) My first post here on Polycount and its about hand painted textures. I'd really like to get into hand painted textures so I can get on with creating some scenes within UDK for my portfolio. I love the style of games such as Diablo III, League of Legends and DOTA etc. and would love to create my own assets that…
Hello guys ! I have a really bad problem. After create asset in Blender and create it UVs, I exported the scene in .obj and made a new document in Substance Painter to texture it. - But in Substance i can't paint on some meshes. At some point I decided it would be very good move to make some cool scene to showcase these textures so I started blocking it out. This is what I have so far. I'm not really an environment artist and this…

I am traditionally a 3D artist/Programmer so i'm having a hard time right now. I am having problems with color choices and lighting and lighting/shading. I was curious if anyone could…
Yes, you can (and often should) use normal maps with hand-painted textures. However, simply using a default blinn or phong material will hide lots of the beauty you can achieve with hand painting. You need to come up with your own shader for rendering with hand-painted diffuse with normal maps. Lighting is just as, if not…
