I'm curious to what technique everyone uses to create textures like rock or terrain? Do you hand paint yours? do you apply normal maps? Personally i'm trying to figure out what the benefit of using certain techniques are. For example the way i texture my models right now is simply modeling, uving, photoshop, then bringing…
Hello, everyone! I have never taken part in such large-scale competitions before. But although there isn’t much time left, I really want to try my hand at it. I like a lot of champions from the League of Legends, but I exactly knew who I would choose for my illustration. My character, Zoe, is spiritually close to me.…
hey guys(and girls of course) .. I work as a 2d artist and finally after a big while I gathered some money and can study 3D (specially modeling and rendering.. ), with Zbrush I'm already learning it .. but now that I would have more free time ( I will stop taking commissions a lot of commissions).. so I started to look…
Hello everyone! So a quick introduction first before I showcase my work. I am 25 years old, and I am currently a student at The Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA. My dream is to be an Environment Artist for a AAA company, but my pursuit for knowledge in game design will hopefully lead me through a long path to get to the…
Hi everyone, wish i had participate the last Riot Contest years ago and i'm really happy that its happening again and now i have the chance to show my skills. I'm not a LOL player but i am deeply in love with the artstyle, the handpainted textures and so on. Actually i'm more used to do realistic renders/textures but i…
Hiya, My HD has just died so Ive bought a new 200gig Western Digital Sata drive to replace the 80gig seagate that died. After reinstalling windows and a few drivers I installed the Call of Duty 2 demo that ran like ass on my old clogged up drive and the leap in performance is incredible (its playable in DX 9 mode!) So what…
It's still not as sensitive as an intuos, but it's definitely sensitive enough to do light sketching. I've owned both an Intuos 4 and the Surface Pro and the freedom it gives greatly surpasses the need for that last gram of sensitivity. The main issues with drawing on the SP has to do with the Wacom bug, when the…
Hey Donte I commend you on committing to improvements, but from what you've updated, it still looks to be the same quality from before. As harsh as that sounds, the tomb and the red skull seem to both suffer from bad design (I'm assuming you're working off your own concept and idea), and a lack of a clear render target.…
Try this: With your sculpt to lowest level, create DispMap in displacement tab in your tool palette. When the texture gets added to the alpha, choose the material you want to get to texture and in your alpha panel choose "crop and fill" - it should use your displacement map to give shading to the material that is now…
Thanks for the feedbacks guys. I'll have to do some testing to see if I can come up with a transparency like poop suggested as its the best suggestion that can fit with what I had in mind. The blackops character is kind of "blinding" now that I look at it again so I appreciate those suggestions. Also Chris ; the color…
