I'm currently trying to animate in Maya after building a simple model. The model itself is 776 tris, I will lower this. Right. I have a waist and a set of legs. I have placed connecting joints on each leg, at the hip, knee and ankle positions and I have no clue on where to go from there. Halp D: Thanks

One has to distinguish: Signed distance fields or functions does define some volume. Ray Marching is one possible algorithm to compute SDF's. Another possibility are voxels.. even if "rastered".
