here- I assume this is what you mean, AsaNYC. The horizontal loops are not the issue- the vertical loops are. You can reduce your tri count on the neck and back of the head without loosing much definition.
You can collapse your excessive edge loops without changing the silhouette that much; ask yourself if these edge loops do anything at all. I also see a few ngons on the tail wing.
More loops, bend modifier and taper modifier woud be a start.Or you could make the flat shape, add more loops and use conform brush from max > graphite modeling tools> freeform.
Yeah, first make sure there are no errors with the geometry. Also, I've noticed that swift loop is a little buggy at certain camera distances. Sometimes I need to zoom out on the object to make it recognize the loop.
