Maya also likes to unmerge uvs when you import a model (incase you didn't already know). So I find standard practice is import model>merge uvs>select all edges>soften edge. Yay for productivity.
Cool, thank you for the link to the Zbrush plugin. But I also recommend to practice close edge loops to learn subdivision modelling. Sometimes it is faster to do mechanical non organic high poly models in another 3d app than Zbrush.
Hello everyone! Hope it is OK to share my latest stuff. The robots are my concept and the bike is

I am making this character for some practice and I would very much appreciate any feedback on the body as well as the clothing, its still a work in progress but it would be nice to get some advice. I made the majority of the clothing in marvelous designer and then edited it in Zbrush, I would love to hear thoughts on it.
Thanks! This took me probably around 4 or 5 hours, I'm not sure really as I just did little bits here and there between work. Definitely too much time to spend on practice but I got attached to this lil guy lol
My practice with hand painting texture since everyone been doing them I gotten inspire by them. Been liking how I got it so far The texture seems quite flat. How can I push this to pop out, especially the roof. Excuse to greens too. There so many.
Hi evryone ! So this is my first post at Polycount. I'm 15 and I've been practicing 3d since almost a year ! I love all that is related to heroic fantasy. Here is one of my latest creation, modeled and textured in zBrush, uved in 3d coat and rendered in marmoset. Hope you'll enjoy it ! =)
A animation piece i did for my class assignment and I felt like showing it off and see what people think, I myself feel like i could of exaggerated the lifting better but as a student i still learning and practicing :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-BBk76Bars&feature=youtu.be
Decided to start really practicing my hard surface modeling, and thought this concept from Interstellar Marines might be fun. There's some other stuff I want to get modeled right now, so will probably come back to this later and texture it. Leaving as a high-poly exercise for the time being.
