Besides the obvious looking at and drawing/modeling buildings I see around me, what would some of you more experienced 3D environment artists recommend really studying in terms of architecture? What practical stuff should I learn that will really enhance any concepts or models I make of environments?
So I was practicing making Normal Maps, and I made a high-res cube model in Z-brush. I then brought the cube into Maya and used the Transfer Maps tool. After I was done, this was the result: So I was wondering why the poly lines are showing up om the cube.
Like the thread title says its a high poly chainsaw... I wanted to get in some practice working with high poly hard surface stuff, and this seemed like as good a subject as any. Everything was done in Max with the turbosmooth modifier. I'm pretty satisfied with the model at this point. Comments and critique are welcome,…
Have this helmet that I am aiming to fit into the mad max game world. Practicing Marvelous designer and made that neck cloth, still feels very doughy. I need to make some adjustments, and if you have any suggestions please fire away. Will be moving on to the clothing this week
Hi there folks, Trying to get into zbrush and practice some sculpting, first time making a hand, took me a while, I'm looking for some crits on this. Any 2 cents would be great!! The sculpt is about 2M polys for the whole thing. Also, what's with zbrush's weird layer system :/
Currently in the process of modeling a car in 3DS. But one subject I rarely see is... How do you model/make the underside of the vehicle and have it look good while also being game practical? If the car flips it will get seen so Im curious to figure this out. Thanks!
This is a fan design I'm making of Vraska from Magic. A lot of things just feel off and ugly. I'm practicing learning anatomy, proportions, and sculpting in general, so any advice or critique would be greatly appreciated! I plan on rigging her after getting actual textures.
Hey guys. I've been practicing my design and modeling skills. I came up with this design of a submersible. Please comment and criticize. What could be done better? How can I improve my design skills and style? I posted it on my artstation too: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/DxNB1G
ok guys I know this is a newbie question, but I am going to ask anyway. I plan to model a shotgun. Is it common practice to model in pieces, then attach them together as one object. like the barrel, the pump and so on. Or do all the surfaces need to be connected? I dont plan to rig it or anything.
Hey guys, I modeled this little clock I found at the antique shop a few weeks ago and put it into marmoset. I'm just looking for critiques on my texturing and rendering as I'm trying to get in as much practice as I can before school starts back up. Any feedback is appreciated!
