I have this problem that I have scenes that I want to create, maybe together with colleagues inside of our 3D Programm (Cinema4D) and not directly inside a Game Engine. There are several reasons, one is that it is more flexible so that we can easily export it over to another Engine as well. Especially for the upcoming…
Hey GUys, I have two seperate Maya Scenes. Number 1 is where my head is and in Number 2 I created the Eye with all the shading and stuff. Now I want to bring my Eyes into the Number 1 Head Scene, BUT everytime I do that, the eyes turn Black (they were Brown/Green before). So when I position them and go to the Arnold Render…
I need to render only object and it's shadow (that casts on the plane) in the scene. In order to be able to paste ladder and it's shadow like 2 different layers in photoshop. I use Vray. For example: from the whole scene I need to render only ladder and it's shadow (on the photo below ladder doesn't has shadow, I know. But…
That's pretty god. damn. impressive Critiqe would be it's too dark. I love rainy scenes and I love dark scenes but speaking at wanting to show this off it's best if it's brighter so we can read all the details. Something like this will really add to the scene let us see your awesomeness, I'm in love thought keep updating…
Hello, Latest driver is installed -- I just reinstalled it to be sure. I also am using the latest version of Toolbag. Here's my machines info: The problem is this : Every time I try to generate a test bake (or a full bake), windows gives me the thinking icon for about 20-30 seconds and then Toolbag crashes. To be clear,…
LATEST UPDATE: Put some more work into the floor texture. Still not 100% satisfied, but I'll come back to it later. Moving on for now: ORIGINAL POST: Hi Polycount, I'm joining the bandwagon and making a summer environment. I want to make a scene with some nice modular pieces, and a variety of textures and props to show off…

I think the primary thing that could really increase the image quality is to study Composition, and decide how you want people to view the piece. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Concept_Fundamentals#Composition After that, I think looking more at real world references would help you see what…
Hi everyone, I am new to Polycount, and this is my first post. I am working on an attic scene, modeled in Maya and rendered in UDK. This is so far what I got, the attic is suppose to be based in the late 80s so all the props im working on have to have some kind of reference to that time period. The idea is that it is…
Hey, I just thought I could post some screengrabs from a little scene I put together a while ago. It's made with modular pieces and dynamicly lit atm. Anyway, sorry if the screens are a bit small, my computer suck so it can't really handle any nice resolutions... SCREENS UPDATED SINCE THREAD START: I focused the lighting…
This may be related to your scene lighting. Are you using Default Lighting or Scene Lights? I was able to reproduce something similar when set to All Lights vs Default Lighting. Try switching to Default if you haven't already. My guess here is that your scene lights are close to the object, so when it is scaled your object…
