Hi, I deleted my DerivedDataCache and when I try to open my project my pc crashes. I'm using GPU Lightmass My specs, CPU Ryzen 5 2600X GPU NVIDIA GeForce 2060 6GB The cache was around 70bg so I figured it would take a while for everything to open. So regardless of the system freeze, I let it open for around 10 hours and…
Hi 3D artists! I currently look at polycount and reddit for finding freelance gigs, however I find that they are iffy at best, and 95% or more of the gigs are either unpaid or offer close to nothing in terms of pay (eg asking you to do hours of work for $15 or days of work for $100 etc). I'm feeling stumped so I thought…
System Spec's: 3.4ghz intel i7 cpu gtx 760 geforce 32gb of ram 128gb SSD drive ( primary ) - samsung 840 pro 2tb toshiba ( mass media storage drive ) I am currently baking a 3k polygon crate assets onto a 6 polygon cube. for transfer paint details. from ptex to uv. It is using 95% of my cpu and 90%+ of my ram and bogging…
Hey folks. Posted this a while back when still working on the low poly (shout-out and thanks to those who added their advice). This piece is targeted as a 1st person, or very close to the camera piece, so micro detail was very important for me. Final tri count was 6.3k Tris with a 2k Dif/Norm/Spec/Gloss that could easily…
sry for BIG images) A lot of you guys are huge inspiration to me, I have been browsing here for 1 1/2 years now. 95% of what I know about art, I've learned here or at Conceptart.org. It is now time to stop being selfish and to start taking the time of posting stuff. Hopefully, I can give back some of the inspiration I have…
Hey there, i am looking around some of the artwork i brought home today and i waned to share some of the screens from the environments i did for the game. We had a total of 4 environment artists to do all of the work for this game. So basically i had an entire level to do by myself which included models, textures, normals…
Looks like your UV islands are pretty loosely packed . Modern UV packers could do much better usually . It could give you more pixels per certain detail. Then you can bend /deform other islands slightly for tighter pack , just slightly. Then you could upscale the island having this sign a bit. It may sound like blasphemy…
i know it to be faster 95% of the time(for me) when you have to match a photographic diffuse. I hate to have to repeat this but do not assume you allways handpaint from scratch. Can you honestly say that sculpting a brick wall to match a photo ( like this one…
Quick update! Been a busy last few weeks but I finally got some time to sit down and work on my low poly. I'm about 95% done now. Threw a junk flatten unwrap and bake in substance painter to test everything. Pretty happy with the results! I see a few areas i need to add some geometry and obviously a better unwrap. The…
I'd say 95% of the texture painting is in bodypaint. I only do very sharp 1 pixel vertical or horizontal stuff in Photoshop, since Bpaint doesn't have a constrain to horizontal/vertical with shift like photoshop does, and I do most of my flipping or transforming in photoshop. Also the initial mask and layer setup in…
