Hey folks. Posted this a while back when still working on the low poly (shout-out and thanks to those who added their advice).
This piece is targeted as a 1st person, or very close to the camera piece, so micro detail was very important for me. Final tri count was 6.3k Tris with a 2k Dif/Norm/Spec/Gloss that could easily be lowered.
First time really working this close up with wood. Was a great learning experience. Around 95% hand painted, sculpt done in zbrush4r4, low poly in Topogun, textured in photoshop.

Yup 2k. It holds up pretty well at 1k, but not quite as well
