Hey guys, I was just on Quixels website and they have a add for an upcoming tool. Please yell at me if this is in another thread already, But does anyone have any information on what exactly it is? I can't tell if its an upgraded version of ndo2 with new features, A texturing tool thats like SD3, or something more like a…
When freelancing, I know it's normal to charge the client for tools you need for the job. But would that still the case if you intend to continue using the tools after the job is done? Since you would be benefiting from them beyond the scope of the job you were given.
I'm investigating alternative ways of creating terrain (other than a heightmap) and I was wondering if any tools exist in current 3d programs that would let an artist create a varied terrain. Not just rolling hills, but also sharp cutoffs and overhangs. Would something like this be possible with for example the NURBS tools?
*I can't edit the tittle so: "Zbrush, just checking the tools" I did this with a dynamesh sphere in Zbrush, I was just checking the tools and I finished doing this weird ogre; anyway I'm a newbie and it's the first time that I try to do a face. It's not the great thing, but I'm always showing my "work" through facebook and…
Hey! I'm working on a Houdini Engine cable tool. I want it to be as artist friendly as possible. So I'm here to ask for feedback. What would you like to see in a cable/wire tool? What should the workflow be like? Since it's an engine asset, it'll work wherever houdini engine is supported (Unreal, Unity, Maya and so on).…
Hello, I'm super new to modeling so hopefully this has an easy answer. I'm using the bevel tool to make little ridges on a cylinder. The first bevel worked perfectly, but the subsequent bevels after have inverted on one side and pushed into the object instead of out. I've checked the tool settings, and the good bevel and…
I originally was going to name the topic more speficaly, but I made it like this so I can address more issues as they come up. Tos start with, in manual vertex mode of the skin modifier, if I open up the weight tool menu and attempt to select vertices or do anything, the vertices are deselected/cease to be displayed, and…
i need a gradient tool that will let me pick points on a grid and assign colors to it, then do gradient blends between then on the x and y. sort of like the gradient layer tool in PS, but on steroids... i considered trying to use that and set up layer masks for each row, and wow... decided to ask if there is something out…
I stumbled upon this tool called (Boundary First Flattening) on the web and I just wanted to share it with you guys. It's free and open source. https://github.com/GeometryCollective/boundary-first-flattening https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/new-uv-unwrapping-tool-boundary-first-flattening/td-p/7641270
i have a workaround for this: - select vertices - select your tool, in your case scale("r"), but rotate or move works fine, too. - press insert for pivot mode - move pivot with snap to vertex(press "v") or grid(press "x") to your scale origin - press insert again to go back to your tool -> now you can scale or rotate like…
