I made a selection then filled it with a color, then made another selection and filled it with a different color. Then i did convert heightmap and it kept it all one layer, shouldn't it be multiple layers based on the different colors? Also how do i save the selections or colors so that i can use them to mask for DDO, have…
Cool execution, for me it's cabling that really sets the overall vibe by unifying a grungy industrial - cyberpunky service tunnel type aesthetic so curious if generated 'on the fly' or referenced? also probable nitpick but anyway a light coating of dirt/oily dust layer I think would be a fairly nice addition?
Is there a way to generate occlusion from normal map of a solid layer? Also it would nice to be able to load an image to the occlusion slot of a solid layer.
I tried dragging but the layers don't move. I'd like to simply reorder my layers. Heh, never mind. I was having an issue with windows and dragging and dropping files. Apparently it was also affecting photoshop. I restarted my machine and it all works now.
I suppose it depends on what your working on, your budget, and the players point of view. Either way I feel you need to check out this tutorial by phillipk and how he transforms a texture on a plane into something else - http://philipk.net/tutorials/modular_rocks/modular_rocks.html That technique can be applied to…
I'm trying to blend two layers together but I can't get the look that I want. I want to blend a layer of dirt with a white canvas background and this opacity gradient effect is ruining the transition. How can I fix this?
Looks really cool, I like your lighting and use of color. One thing I think stood out to me is the graffiti, in real life i dont think there would one be one super massive perfect graffiti on one wall, maybe add some smaller tags around the other walls to make it look like many people have been to this place over time.…
Anyone every figured out a quick way to run the offset filter on multiple layers. You can use a smart filter but then your layers are a smart object not exactly useful.
In the dDo menu, there's two options: Copy Mask to All Maps, and Copy Layer to All Maps. The first will copy any mask to all of the relative layers on multiple documents, the second will copy a single layer to multiple documents.
Hey guys, I figured out a way to manage the layer stack in Substance Painter a bit better. It uses a combo of dummy layers, masks, and anchor points. End result is a more organized stack where effects aren't cluttered. Hope it helps. Post on Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/g8k83P
