Thanks for your reply, I'll look into the loops and update the thread when I've had a play around with it. I'll be sure to look around the rest of the forum for other tips (this model is for a University Module which has a 'community evaluation' portion, so any tips at all help both the modelling and my overall grade)
@passerby Thanks a lot,..I increased the scale of both the low and high poly mesh to like 100 in xnormal and the error window did not come up.Rendered out my normal and ao maps. @EarthQuake No worries.The renderers work well with the maps now.I just had to reverse the normals on the model.Mental ray does seem to be…
@pixie3d I agree with @gnoop A streamlined UI driven by hotkeys/pie menus is the way to go. All of the main DCCs have so many redundant tools, located in 2 or 3 places. Not sure if my process is right for painting in NDO mode. I created a plane in max exported in tris as a obj. Created NDO file with the mesh. Added a new sculpt layer and opened up the 3DO and within the window of 3do I do not see paint on there.
Here is an image of the imported model in Zbrush and how it looks in Maya when I imported it over. The edges are all hard and the rest is smooth. I still don't know why it's coming into Zbrush this way.
