Not sure if my process is right for painting in NDO mode. I created a plane in max exported in tris as a obj. Created NDO file with the mesh. Added a new sculpt layer and opened up the 3DO and within the window of 3do I do not see paint on there.
There is a step I am missing. It looks like they are painting on a mask or something, not sure because when i paint on the plane , the pixels dont bevel in or out.
You need to create a Multi-Normal before you can paint in 3D. You also need to check the nDo Painter option, as well, within the Multi-Normal. Once you've done this, you can paint on the model. If you press M, you will toggle between PBR and Masked mode, allowing you to more easily see what and where you've painted. Pressing SHIFT+SPACEBAR will apply 3D paint to the Multi-Normal, which will then update in 3DO.
Thanks your always there for me.ha I see all these cool things people are doing and Im like I want to do that too and then I get stuck. Thanks again Ill try it right now.
Just tried this all out and got it to work, thanks again. I really wished that when you created a multinormal layer or even just a new sculpt that it would produce just one layer to paint on, there are so many layers that get generated that I am not even sure which layer is the correct one to paint on. I would assume its the layer that is selected when its done generating but still. thanks
