Its my first time using panel loops and I'm using slice brushes to form my polygroups. I've ended up with many excess slices that are distorting geometry in some areas. The only way I know to clear the slice marks is to dynamesh, which also ruins the clean edges on the new polygroups. Is there something I'm missing to…
I will absolutely look into doing clear-coat when I try to optimize this down. Thanks for the replies! I am back with an update. I spent most of yesterday refactoring my previous result, with a refocus on pushing PBR and trusting it over curating a certain look. I also dug an old reflector out of the garage and studied it,…
I'm using Photoshop CS 5 and I cant access the sliders in nDo2. I can create a new normal, select an area and convert to normal, but then i can't tweak it. It just stays on the "convert to normal window". When i watch tutorials the slider automatically appear. I've also got the same problem with photoshop CC so I doubt…
Hi, i'm modelling the Colt 1911 and i have a problem with this area.. I tried to add support edges but i got a terible pinching. Can someone give me a tip how to smooth this?
PC - latest vers of Max I've been working on a small animation project this weekend and then I noticed something wierd with my time slider. It should be white w/ my key frames for whatever i have selected, now all that is left is the time slider with nothing else. Even when I select objects that have key frames and go into…
I've had this issue for a while, but for other objects it wasn't as important (cube being limited to 50x50x50 etc). The Curvature slider for the bend modifier only goes from -2 to 3, in degrees. I can change the value directly, but then it becomes difficult and cumbersome. I tried looking in the bend deformer options,…
A lot of the slideshows from the GDC presentations are now up for viewing - http://www.gdcvault.com/free/gdc-14 I haven't had a chance to look through many, but there' seems to be some cool art-related stuff nestled amongst the more technical or business-oriented ones. -edit- great work with the thread title, fingers.…
I tend to use splines a lot for hard surface modeling. Here are some slides from a demonstration I did recently . Sorry about the language, they are in bulgarian...basically, I project plane surfaces onto proxy models using some projection tool ,in my case this is polyboost. slide1: I start with splines, quickly convert…
