Hi, i'm modelling the Colt 1911 and i have a problem with this area..
I tried to add support edges but i got a terible pinching.
Can someone give me a tip how to smooth this?
I can't find the video tutorial for this(the link is somewhere hear on Polycount), but you if you are going to be baking out a normal map you might want to make those edges softer. Softer edged give a more pronounce normal bake, so when the texture mips to lower resolution(meaning from a distance) it still retains the rounded look.
Aah....so i bothered with these ""ngons"" for nothing but thanks. good to know, i was affraid if it could have some affect on a bake..or something
aand yes. of course you don't have chamfered edges on Low poly

I knew about that baking, but i am facing a problem, because i realized i have to "chamfer" these edges:
Should i chamfer them as first or After i chamfered that outter edge?
edit: I know i am annoying but i couldn't find any (free) tutorial on this.
Weld the inner corners to their middle verts:
An optional step is to realign your verts:
And then just chamfer the new loops:
There might be an easier way, but this is ho I do it.
