I think it's decent, but it could be better for sure: 1. Only show your best work, your portfolio stands and falls on your worst piece. When you add a new piece to the portfolio remove your worst. 2. I cannot find more specifically what you want to work as than 3D artist (with specializations in every step of the content…

A quick anatomy and sculpting exercise on Zbrush. Day n half for modeling and another day n half for setup and render. Modeled on Zbrush from a basemesh and rendered on Maxwell Render+some Mentalray. I 've spotted some anatomy flaws after the render:poly117:, but didnt want to invest more time on this piece. Critics and…
I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times before but did we ever figure out how to make a shader render additive in maya like a game engine would. Thus far I've been doing it in post, hie render out your glow sprites and set that layer to additive in the composite. Anyone figured out how to do this directly in the…
Hey, I'm new here - so I hope you all aren't too critical (constructive, not destructive!). Everything done with 3ds Max + Photoshop. Feel free to ask for wireframes/texture samples. I should note I'm not much of a render specialist - everything is rendered with default scanline render with 1-3 lights. (inspired by an…

Why are you even rendering it at all? Your energy is far better spent elsewhere. You just don't need to be rendering this thing yet. Concentrate on your modeling and getting things working technically. Rendering should be the last thing on your mind.
So I've been having this problem for a while, whenever I render AO in 3D Max, the deepest grooves are lit. I have this issue regardless of if the grooves are part of the normal map or if they're on the actual model, and they show up with both regular renders (standard and mental ray) and Render to Texture. I'm using a…
