DDS DXGI Format (Max, Maya etc)

are there any viewers or plugins for 3dsMax (except the command line viewer inside the DirectXTex sources) that are capable of handling the DDS DXGI format? 3DS-Max 2014 and 2015 can't load those dds files (wrong header) and maya simply freezes when using a material with one of those dds files. this format is available… -

I think monster might be onto something. I think they fixed that in 2013 or 2014. We went from 2012 where it was happening on a few custom rigs I had experimented with, but when we jumped up to 2014 it didn't happen when I recreated the same setup. My modo has fbx versions 2006.1, 2010, and 2013 for exporting. 2013 is just... not good. I always use 2010 and ignore the outdated fbx version warning because I've never had any issues with it.
