help!
In max you usually could zoom close up to your rotation centre. The camera would stop there and not zoom any further.
In max 2015 there is now the functionality that you can zoom forever. The problem with this is .. the rotation centre moves (it also does when panning)
Is there a somewhere an option to disable / revert to the old behaviour? This is so annoying when framing a very tiny object and trying to pan+ rotate. 2014 is still fine...
edit: max 2014 is also strange but the effect is less visible

Sounds like a scale issue. Reset the xForms and make sure you aren't working at a very tiny scale. BTW, feel free to make a new thread when you have an unrelated question from the topic.
Conclusion was that the devs will introduce some toggle for the new functionality ( shortcut , maxscript access).
I guess this will land in the next service pack or so ...
hehe that would be nice.. just let people toggle these "cool" new features off. :poly142:
well.. they might be useful in certain situations.
How about first lookin up the thread i mentioned instead of just doom&gloom guessing?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having troubles with cameras !
And how about you reading MY message before your doom&gloom guessing?
UPD: i just read what's doom and gloom is and yeah even the fact they maybe change that, i have zero trust they wont make it in some idiotic way forcing end user to suffer. No trust, zero.
Just so you know, autodesk added a way to revert back to the traditional navigation method with the SP2.
you have to look for the 3dsmax.ini under:
C: \Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2015 - 64bit\ENU
and add "AdaptiveNavigation=0" under [Performance] section like this:
[Performance]
AdaptiveNavigation=0
better, but the zoom is still stupid. I don't want to zoom to infinity.. -.- anyhow at least it's somehow usable now... :shifty:
