So I'm just getting my toes wet in ZBrush. I've learned most of the major opening pit falls from getting something on screen that you can actually edit, to knowing how to correctly save a project. I've got something I want to sculpt and a concept for it: From what I understand about the program I'm going to need to learn…
Hey peeps! I've been working on a female character recently and decided to challenge myself with abit of Hard surfacing thrown in. It's pretty much my first time doing hard surfacing especially with zbrush. I used a concept art from one of my inspirational folders, just so you know I DIDN'T draw this D; and I can't seem to…
Hello guys, Posting this here as well, as the allegorithmic forum seems slightly slower than the PC community. I hope it doesn't bother anyone. As I am new in both UE4 and the allegorithmic software, I am most likely missing something super obvious. How do I sync the look on metallic surfaces between SP/SD and UE4? If I…
Hi Everyone its been a while since i've posted here, but now university work is easing slightly i can get away from reports back into modelling. :D :D:D. anyway after a random road trip to a beach in north wales i had an idea for a character come to mind , a crabman. this was due to the mass amounts of crabs on the beach…
Am I missing something in Maya? I model in polygons and use edge loops to define my hard edges. Then do a smooth to get that sub-d appearance. Whenever I select my hard edges in Maya and preform a Bevel on it, it completely messes up my edge flow and gives me N-gons everywhere. But I also must ask, If you are putting a…
it looks very nice. you may want to pull the exposure back a tiny bit. as i understand i think the general rule of thumb is to try and prevent a lit surface from flattening too harshly from a bright light so not to lose surface detail but, i'm positive this is one of those art rules that is flexible and can be broken for…
apart from quick ideas/sketches... I was brainwashed back in art school that working small promoted timid anemic practices. Like concentrating on localizing details instead of working out overall landmarks/values that would better suggest a strong composition. ( where anemic small scale promoted tunnel vision motivating…
Thanks Add3r! The modeling, UV'ing, and rendering side of it only takes about 3 or 4 hours from poly cube to finished shot if all goes smoothly. Creation of each master design takes between a few days to a week to flesh out. However a single master design covers between 30 and 40 product types (Candles, lotions, aprons,…
>My overall point is that building something and subdividing it looks much nicer than a lumpy cloth/head model and in terms of speed is much quicker and nicer to look at IMHO. This kinda left me scratching my head. Sub-d is great but for anatomy/cloth zbrush is a very powerful tool. I learned heads/anatomy/cloth in sub-d…
When I bring in the surfaces, most of the time they don't line up EXACTLY. I have no clue why a lot of them come in this way. So I get my surfaces correct in Maya, sometimes I rebuild sections/details that need it. Then I bring the files into Lightwave for fine-tuning and rendering. When I get into LW the files are…
