Mech Chick

Hey peeps!

I've been working on a female character recently and decided to challenge myself with abit of Hard surfacing thrown in. It's pretty much my first time doing hard surfacing especially with zbrush. I used a concept art from one of my inspirational folders, just so you know I DIDN'T draw this D; and I can't seem to find the artist either :( If anyone knows I'd love to know who it is, so I can credit him/her.

P.S fellow polycounter *AA3D* helped me find the artist!

So far this is what I've came up with :D

The hair and eyebrows/lashes are placeholder for now. I also did a quick texture for the face just to get the feel of it. Critique and feedback are very much appreciated :D

Was finally able to make some progress on the character today :D

I first made a concept breakdown of the character-
Drew out the side view and spread out the armor.
Took me about 2 hours for me to actually even understand what was going on- Due to my lack of practice with hard surfaces :|

And then next step was to watch TONS of tutorials on how to model hard surfaces in zbrush- I think I learned more today than I ever did for a long time- I have to say it was extremely hard to get it even close to what I wanted-

The hips had to be fixed along with the butt and legs- I made it softer and a little smaller to make it less bulky for the accesories/ armor.

Some of the blocking I managed to pull out. I used alot of extraction from the main mesh along with cubes and spheres around the character, I'm still bothered by the shoulder armor- but I can't seem to understand what's wrong with it yet- been staring at it for too long I reckon. Shadow box was giving me a hard time and I resorted to organically sculpting the back especially- Next is to get the blocking for the arm armor, shoes and get the straps in-
