Work in Progress: Entire scene is on a single 2048 texture sheet with 1 diffuse, spec, normal, and extra texture for different masks and stuff that I will be adding later. Things to do still: -Make a few more props to flesh out scene. -Create ground plane for better and more dynamic layout of scene. I want the street on…
Whew, finally got around to getting some of this out the way. This is going to be a sweet chance to really put my all in, on some sweet composition and lighting. FIgure I'll get those out the way first. Here are my first passes at the scene. As you can totally see, I'm really into these Dutch Angles. I'm trying to make…
hey just got a few questions and what approach people would think is best to work scale out on a scene. im want to start a udk scene based on this concept by Thierry Doizon but im not sure if im better off starting with the geometry of the room, or starting with a prop like the chair in the bottom right corner and using it…
I don't know what caused this, it's the second time that it's happened. The first time, I just merged the entire scene to a new file to fix it, but I really don't want to do this every time it happens. I noticed it happened this time after I imported an OBJ into the scene which I had sculpted/baked out in mudbox, now…
Hi!! I am new to populating a scene with a lot of small objects and I would like to ask suggestion and guidance from people in polycount on how to go about doing it. I am trying to create a scene with a lot of gold coins and not sure how to go about doing it. I tried doing mash on a simple gold coin and populating it but I…
Hello good people of Polycount! I've recently started working on forest scene which hopefully will turn out good enough to be a portfolio piece. I also plan to make a custom map out of it for game called Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, so my scene would be both functional and (hopefully) good-looking. Here's a general plan of…
I've posted a few WIPs of this scene in the WAYWO thread but I figured a would give this it's own thread at this point. This scene was done over a 6 week period for Jeremy Huxley's CGMA class "Vegetation for Games", which I would highly recommend to anyone. The majority of the foliage was sculpted in ZBrush and then baked…
WIP_06 (^Current WIP^) Really sad to say that my course is over, Its been awesome to have that sense of discovery as I learned a whole bunch of new stuff. I would absolutely recommend checking out the CGMA course for Modular Environments given by Clinton Crumpler. Clinton was an amazing teacher and made sure we had all the…
Your link is broken. Give this a go, I wrote it for someone as a favour; #!/usr/bin/env pythonimport lximport os# Check if the scene has been saved.scene_changed = lx.eval1 ('query sceneservice scene.changed ? current')lx.eval ('dialog.setup saveOK')lx.eval ('dialog.title "Scene Unsaved"')lx.eval ('dialog.msg "The scene…
A big problem I see is the initial page is a big picture of your face and a wall of text. Which continues to the portfolio where the thumbnails are just a little bigger than the picture of your face. I'm all for seeing a resume/CV early, but we need content AND fast. Modular church beauty shot is a weird stack of filters.…
