It's difficult to tell what is going on from these images. It looks like you may have many very small UV islands and not enough texture resolution to properly cover the surfaces. I would suggest working on a more efficient UV layout with fewer seams. You may want to try a higher texture resolution as well.
Hi everyone. I'm having a problem with my dress. I've followed the tutorial on how to attach the fabric onto the mesh but when it renders, the bottom part of the dress starts to stretch the fabric. I have a perfect UV Layout so i really don't know what it could be :/ Can someone help please

I've been tasked with consolidating multi mesh characters into one texture map. Anyone have some recommended workflows? Is it just a matter of combining all objects into 1 then adjusting the UV layout so that they all dont overlap. Then adjust all of their texture maps accordingly? Or perhaps there's a tool out there that…
I am about to unwrap a model I've been working on, and I was thinking.. There ARE other unwrapping tools, Should I use Modo to unwrap or is it recommended to learn another software like.. UV layout (https://www.uvlayout.com/)? I hear a lot of good stuff from the people who use that program in place of their built in…
Just gotta say I went a little bit commercial with all the flashy layout, sorry about that, I'm still old school at heart. I tried a few different techniques while working on the skin, so things look pretty messy to me, I'm not happy with the design and other elements.. but w/e. it was good practice. oh flatz:
Hey guys, my name is Leo, I go by Neebler on LoL. Currently working on some composition sketches for a piece featuring my favorite void monster, Cho'gath, fighting Fizz and his shark buddy. I will post sketches as I continue to iterate on image layout and conveyance of story. Feedback/criticism is encouraged, thanks!

Hey guys, Does anyone know if there is still a tool to flatten a polygon mesh by deforming it into its UV layout in world space? And then use it to wrap around any patterned geometry? I wanted to do something like this: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1115091&postcount=156 Can't find the tools anymore though.
Thanks so much for the detailed reply. :) So I should make it be like 4 pieces instead of one or a bunch of squares which is inefficient? What was the UV map like for your 4 pieces? Was it a projection layout and a perfect square?
