Hello! I am needing some advice on the best practices around separating texture sets. I'm modeling a character and am getting close to the surfacing stage. Is it best to separate the textures sets by material, by prop, or by texture density need? (Face v. less important area) Thank you, look forward to the feedback!
I need someone to work part time (work whenever as long as it gets done;P) for my Dota 2 set which is mostly complete. The set is for the hero Rubick and concept art can be provided to base textures off. Pay can be provided (cut of the profit) if the item makes it into the game. Thanks in advance!
Hello Polycount, I recently created these two items as part of a set I'd like to continue in the future (probably after I finish up my classes for this semester). I have a couple things I already know I want to adjust when I return to the set, but I wanted to request some critiques here and see what else I need to add to…
Trying to make a castle ruins modular set and figuring out the best way to do this. I need to have nice cracks and things throughout some of the more damaged pieces. Not sure the best way to approach this. only one methods I can think of, but it has some downfalls. sculpt some main pieces with some light damage. make…
Simply fantastic man. Really impressive work, I love it ! as for this: "FYI for anyone working on the broadsword, the root jnt has a scale of 2.54 that you will have to change to 1 before export to get the scale correct. I'm going to double check that solution with someone from Torn banner." I had the same issue, except…
Hello :DThis thread is one of my favourites and I'm just mucking around in Max right now with some of my own lowpoly stuff. I already have my viewport set up to render unfiltered but I am hoping others can help me with some specific questions about lighting/rendering in Max for lowpoly assets. What I want is to get shadows…
I got quite frustrated doing and redoing the leg. I never quite get the knees right, and when they're wrong, it messes the whole thing up. I probably need to do some isolated studies of the knees by themselves. So, in order to be productive while being stuck on that, I did the arms in my free time today. Right hand side is…
Hey Polycounters! I recently started doing a set for Juggernaut, it worked fine til I started exporting my block meshes to Dota 2. I've done this before, half year ago with Luna and didn't encounter this problem. When I import my mesh to Dota, it gets scaled down approx 20%. I've googled the heck out of this problem and…
Ups.. didn't see this before posting in "How the f.." .. But found almost the same model  Hmm.. how do analyze usually any form.. and yes "simplifying" a form and subdividing it "later" helps. Also "retracing" some outline and connecting to faces can be a way to get some proper base to refine later.…
they are not hanging above me, i am upright at the desk, mostly in standing position but if i get tired of standing i lean back on a stool, but my position doesn't change. the monitors at the top are at eye level, i just move my eye and nothing else when looking at one monitor or the cintiq i never have to even rotate my…
