I have an issue where the object disappears on screen using 3ds MAX 2015 (can't use 2012 version). I use the DirectX Shader and 3DS Max is on directX9. Any help is appreciated.
Ahh yes that should solve my problem, thanks Alex. I really should read up on some basic tutorials on 3ds max. I am entirely self taught, and can model some average difficulty hard surface models, and yet still dont use any hot keys or know that much about max in general haha. Any other tips for someone who skipped the…
The glare shader isn't available in max 9. That's a max 2009 file. I don't know if you'll be able to load those dlz's but I'm pretty sure you can't. Like vig said, you're going to end up having to rebuild that from their provided OBJ or 3DS if you're stuck with max 9. But honestly I don't know what you think that file is…
Hi, Is Skin Morph (3ds Max) supported in FBX export to be imported to Maya? Before I mislead you, I meant the pose space deformation version of 3ds max which is Skin Morph and not just a typical morph (which works well in Maya as blendShape). Can someone confirm? Thank you
Hmm, on a related note, 3DS Max 7 on my computer here slows to a crawl when I move any of the viewports onto a different monitor. I kinda like Maya's ability to "tear off" a viewport and maximise it on a different monitor, but when I try stuff like this in Max, it drops to about 2fps and half the icon images disappear. I…
This afternoon I spent a while working on a lighting previewer. Then max spoiled it Im in max 8 I want to have a day cycle animation, where an ambient light turns from day to night and back over a few hundred frames. The ambient omni in the scene will change colour and strength, then I'll have a sun and maybe a moon on an…
first of all great concept man thats some cool stuff, secondly the edgeloops on his chest need some work the spacing is funny in the pectoral area seems more like shoulderblades. also for the chainmail issue i have a workaround for you. dont bother with it in zbrush or max, 1 get a good tileable image of chainmail, and…
Hmm the man seems a bit big compared to the car behind him... like I can't imagine him fitting in behind that steering wheel. Also I'm not sure if I understand how the legs work on the mech. How does the foot rotate with all those large struts in the way? And do the hips have enough room to rotate left/right as it runs?…
Texture Sets have their own independently functioning Input maps (Normal / AO / Curvature / etc.) You can bake respective Texture Sets and it should not effect anything outside of that specific Texture Set. Just make sure you are baking By Mesh Name and you may need to adjust Max and Rear Frontal Distance.
I'm using Max 2012, and dammit. Im not much for the caddy system at all, although it is much better in this version. I used it in Max 2011/2010 and it was rather bad. I havn't loaded Max for like 5 months and I have no scripts installed. So it's a weird issue as it was not there the last time I used it. I will reinstall it…
