One tip I could give you then is focus on painting only before to try it on 3d. Look some real stone, or photos, and try to paint it, through observation.
I made a digital paint for my girlfriends birthday present. I now want to make a 3D representation, though much more stylized. Something like Yinxuan or Andrew Hickinbottom would be fantastic. The plan is to produce a series of poses of a 3D model and print them all in something like A5, and then frame them all really…
At least from Pixologics example: http://pixologic.com/zbrush/features/brushes/matchmaker/ The conforming vertices should be below the highest original point on the conforming mesh. On my test, it is raising it in the middle. I thought it might be brush depth related, but it makes no difference. Am I missing something? Did…
I'm trying the paint directly on mesh function, but the brush size is really small. I turn the size up to 2048, and it looks like maybe a 10-pt size brush in photoshop. A related thing may be that when I import the mesh and start working in 3DO, I have to zoom way out to see my mesh. I exported the mesh as fbx from…
Hi all! I started to work on this demo scene (proof of concept) for my point & click adventure game (UE4). Still a lot of work remains (the hero character is definitely a palceholder  ) but I think its time to show around what I have so far. Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN17xTyAgr4
Hi, I am pretty interested about learning to draw correctly in perspective, so I made a paintover as much to learn as to crit. If I've made any errors someone please give me a slap As far as I can see it's one point perspective, with everything vanashing into one point and all other lines horizontal. The camera angle is…
Hi, I created a cool stylized vertex paint texture for a blocky low res mesh from a detailed texture map in Maya. You can see it in the images attached. However now when i try to create this same look in Maya 2019.2 it always comes out very soft and blurry. I have tried using "harden edge" which is what I did before…
It seems like no matter how much technology progresses, when it comes to internet, it seems like modems/routers/wifi always keeps screwing up at some point. And it makes me angry because I lose so much productivity because my internet just decides to crap out at random when I'm in the middle of doing something important.…
i'm getting oh so close to finally getting some of this stuff straight thanks to lots of help from the peeps here. i am wondering if someone has advice on painting out normal map seams. a couple of my characters aren't really concepted to "hide" seams ie: no straps around the shoulder area and such. and i've done some…
