I made a digital paint for my girlfriends birthday present. I now want to make a 3D representation, though much more stylized. Something like
Yinxuan or
Andrew Hickinbottom would be fantastic. The plan is to produce a series of poses of a 3D model and print them all in something like A5, and then frame them all really nicely so that she can hang them in a long line in her hallway.
So I've not put much time in yet (between work all day and spending time with her, it's very hard to find spare time when she isn't around to work on it.)
Something I tend to do in the past is to start on the clothes and such too early. I want to get the body ready to go and at a great level first this time.
Here's where I am, really need some feedback on proportions and such. Any Critique is welcome!

If anyone is interested, here is the painting I produced for her birthday (it will serve as the concept art for this piece.)
As said, this is very early stages but I'm hoping to maintain a thread here while I try and figure this out. The style thing is really a challenge to me too, it's something new

Thanks!

I would really try and decide and define a style that you want to aim close to before you do too much more work on the actual mesh.
If you do not define an actual style, you might find yourself going back in forth in the middle of production, which is something you really should try and avoid.
Best of luck!
I am looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. Good luck!

Don't agree, I know her well enough to know that she would appreciate this. She's a CG artist too by the way.
every self respecting CG artist should.
Olli. - Haha, she doesn't browse Polycount. She's not into video game art and such. :P
Threw a quick skeleton in and skinned / posed it to see what's working and what's not.
