Hey guys We used to have a thread on a previous iteration of Polycount where people shared little hidden or hard to find tricks for working with Photoshop. I learned so much from that back then, I thought I'd resurrect it. To share the old information again, but also to see if anything new shows up! Some tips that were…
Actually, it's really simple. Open Bridge and select all the files you want to open. Tools menu --> Photoshop --> Load files into Photoshop Layers It creates a new file in Photoshop and opens all the files as layers Damn. Make me register just to tell you people things. :)
I had 32 bit vista up till a couple months ago. I never had any problems with any version of photoshop. Have you tried completely reinstalling photoshop? Uninstall it but before you install it again go to the Program Files and make sure that there are no photoshop files.
Hello Joakim. That Curves tool in Photoshop is performing a mapping of the colour values. You plug in a value A and it outputs a value B. In mathematics, the name of the device that does this is a "function." In order to transfer that Curves tool to a pixel shader, you need to devise a way to input a value A and get a…
So, according to the docs I've read - anything exported from photoshop in 32-bit per channel mode should be exported as linear. This seems correct, the .exr I'm exporting does have metadata saying its saved in linear. However, it looks like Photoshop is saving sRGB data into the texture, but tagging it as gamma 1.0 instead…
Dragging and dropping a file into Photoshop, onto another open file no longer works like it did in CS4 and earlier; instead, Photoshop decides to try and "Place" the file you dropped onto the currently opened file. I never have any use for this sort of behavior and would much prefer to have it work like in CS4. Anybody…
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way (plug-in maybe) to view an image tiled in Photoshop? I'm talking about it just showing the same image end-to-end, to test how well it tiles. What I'm really looking for is some way to have it show them tiled and update all of them as the image changes. I've been using the offset…
Hi guys, I recently got photoshop cs3, because my 6.0 was kindof outdated When working on textures i used to have a path for the exact uv positions on the texture. (done with the unwrap to path plugin i found somewher). But now when i try to free-transform my selection (Ctrl+t) it tries to transform the path in stead of…
This may be a noob question but... do you know a quick way to tile a texture in Photoshop, easily controlling repetition amount, rotation, offset? Visually, this can look like tiling a texture on a 3D plane in any 3D package :) Photoshop Fill Patterns are slow to use and you can't quickly change…
Hi i have a quick question. How do you texture across uv borders? i want the texture to flow from one to the other and around corners. The example i have is lining up camouflage on a military model. I want to be able to do it in photoshop. Iv seen that you can paint textures onto the 3d model in Mari, but this isnt quite…
