Hi all,I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my portfolio. Some questions I'd like to have answered are:- Do you think my portfolio is too vague/unclear as to what type of job I want to do?- Are there any pieces you think I should remove because they aren't on par with the others?- Which industry do you think my…
I am trying to re-skin a model for a game. Since this is a mod I don't have access to the high poly model but I have the normal map. When I try and bake the AO map I am getting some weird shadows on the model.
So I just got hired on at BioWare (Edmonton, Alberta). Super excited to move to a new city and finally get out of my 'rents house :D Granted it's only a QA position, I still think it's a good foot in the door to hopefully transition into the Art team from there. As well, I'm still working at Liquid Development getting some…
I've created my first two characters for a game project I decided to create this year. For my vision, I want to use 2D and 3D art to create a unique experience. I want to combine pixel or sprite art with 3D spaces. Any feedback is most welcome! This is my first attempt at creating concept art for game characters.…
I guess there are two ways I see of going about my portfolio pieces. I high/low poly using displacement/normal maps/ets on the low poly and show the poly count on the images of finished assets or I just keep it high poly and render out finished pieces off that using raytracing methodes since people are just looking at…
Xbox Live was what I played most when I first got my 360 on it's release day ( well that and PGR3)and I still continue to play it a lot. Initially, for some reason I got heavily addicted to a diet of Bejeweled 2, Gauntlet and Smash TV ( I blame Per, he made me buy it when he was over ). What's great about Live is that it…
Hello, I decided to register and post here because I have been googling my problem and this forum is the first to come up... but I still don't have a clear view of things. I'm currently learning how to use mudbox and try to find a comfortable workflow between it and 3ds max. I'm creating my base meshes in max and making…
Hello, So, I've been trying to setup the root bone for my rig in 3Ds Max 2022. With the intention of importing it into UE4. The steps I have taken to do this are: 1) Create a Root Bone and zero it out so it is center in both direction and rotation. 2) Freeze all Bones (in this case I also froze the spline controls) 3)…
So I've been messing around with learning 3D on Blender and Maya but whilst I'm progressing decently I've been reading around and seen that people recommend being a good 2D artist before you try 3d. I have a bit of 2d experience and understand the theory (like line of action and gesture drawing) but I'm far from even being…
I liked National treasure 1, but I won't be seeing 2 anytime soon unless I"m incredibly bored, well that's a stretch too. I saw the first one out of curiosity, I was wondering how bad it could be. What did you guys think of Resident Evil 3? It must have been terrible since I never saw it mentioned in the GD section. I'll…
