ZBrush differences in global scale between Tools
I understand that ZBrush is not very prolific at handling exact measurements (centimeters, etc.) as it uses its own system. it's not old school/ It's one of the key zbrush feature . Hugely superior than ID animated brushes in SPainter doing true alpha cure deform along the stroke . -

[3DSMAX] [ZBRUSH] Import/Export and scale between 3DSMAX and Zbrush
Zbrush works best at a unit scale of 2. Much smaller or larger gives problems with brushes, Dynamesh etc. 3dmax works best at a scale of about 10x larger at least. It's personal preference, really. Mudbox has been kicking ass recently. Mudbox's texturing tools are vastly superior to Zbrush's by far, and it is very, very easy to learn.
