So, I don't have an update right now. Had a couple of stressful weeks. You know what I do have? A rant about ZBrush! I decided in a little free time I had today between things to play with my brushes again. So I started diving into more settings, and it's so frustrating and stupid. Someone tell me, exactly why does ZBrush…
I understand that ZBrush is not very prolific at handling exact measurements (centimeters, etc.) as it uses its own system. However, what has been bugging me lately is that, apparently, someteimes there's a different set of scale used for certain Tools/models which shows in the changing of brush sizes as demonstrated below…
it's not old school/ It's one of the key zbrush feature . Hugely superior than ID animated brushes in SPainter doing true alpha cure deform along the stroke .
Hey guys! I just released a features video of the XMD ToolBox Plugin for ZBrush. The plugin is now available to XMD Members for beta. It is fully functional and awesome! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XroCTOjYto Here is more information about the plugin and the XMD Life-Time http://michaeldunnam.com/beta-information/ The…
Zbrush works best at a unit scale of 2. Much smaller or larger gives problems with brushes, Dynamesh etc. 3dmax works best at a scale of about 10x larger at least. At 2 cm modeling functions do not work properly anymore. Exporting unified objects (scale of about 2) from Zbrush to 3dsmax results in objects of about 2cm in…
This plugin will go into beta in a few weeks. I just wanted to show a preview of it. You can even be part of the naming of the plugin! I am hold a sort of contest for naming on my private facebook group for XMD members. I will be taking suggestions up until Beta is released. Or until I think of a good name for it. If your…
So I've run into this issue with the new ZBrush 2019 which is extremely annoying. I'll click (W) to enter the transpose tool, and move an object- but afterwards I'll click a keyboard shortcut for any of my other brushes, but I've got to press the shortcut twice for it to actually switch to the brush. The first tap of the…
Thanks guys for interesting comments . it's of topic but last fall after years of polishing Designer fx maps and creating procedural approaches I suddenly found how actually better my work had been when it all was just manual, taste and intuition driven. Zbrush sculpts and coloring , hand painted textures I did in some…
It's personal preference, really. Mudbox has been kicking ass recently. Mudbox's texturing tools are vastly superior to Zbrush's by far, and it is very, very easy to learn. Just install and go sculpt. (in 2012, sculpting is seriously really good) People keep saying that Mudbox has fewer brushes than Zbrush. While this is…
Has anyone tried it? I've been waiting eagerly for this; I prefer working on my iPad whenever I can, and I've been searching for a good alternative to my stagnant perpetual license of ZBrush that'll likely stop working at some point. I'm disappointed they did go the subscription route, but it isn't at all surprising and…
