Fwiw, I managed to write a plugin that calls an automation toolkit script and will merge texture sets at the click of a button. I can't share it cos I did it at work but it's not a particularly difficult thing to do so I imagine someone will release something similar at some point -
3dsmax's "Shape merge" equivalent for maya
Hi, Is there an equivalent to the 3dsmax's "shapemerge" function into maya. I founded "Project curve on mesh" but it don't cut the mesh with the curve ... Merging Meshes For 3d Printing
I'm talking with a 3d printing company about getting a model printed but they're asking that I combine all the separate elements into one continuous mesh. Mech 2 v1.0 / 1.1 ran native in DOS in (if I recall correctly) Protected memory mode, something pretty novel at the time. I would export an alembic seqence. Bring back in all frames. Merge the data do a dynamesh or volume to mesh in Bifrost. Or a retopo by hand. -
