Thanks to Syphorlate the Smart Poly extrude(the new name of the script) can extrude faces in any direction(there is no need to select the axis of extrusion any more). [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9PEMamOr00[/ame] The script is not encrypted. :)
My recommendation is to essentially extrude twice. The first extrusion you will just scale the face down in all directions. Then I would extrude that new face, straight back using the move tool in the axis you are wanting to make your indentation. If I knew how to post images on this site (sry I'm new) I would show you…
Hi guys, I'm trying Modo for a couple of days, and I've stumbled on very simple task that I can't reproduce. I have problem with curve extrusion in Modo. I want result like Sweep in 3ds Max, I've found that in Modo you can do this with help of Curve Extrude tool. The issue shows up when I enable options Align to Path -…
Hello. I'm new to the forum and kinda new to 3dsMax and CG in general. So, I have created an object that is basically a cylinder with its base extruded along a spline. Now I want to UV that object but Max doesn't seem to recognize the polygons that were created by the extrusion. The UV space contains only the polygons that…
As someone already suggested already a couple of ways to improve the already great smart extrude of Max the most popular is for the negative extrusion to produce holes instead of currently flipped polygons and bad geometry. You can vote here on this idea : Smart Extrusion - negative direction make holes! - Autodesk…
If you select a curve then select your face to extrude, it should follow the path. Add divisions to your extrusion for it to conform to the path. Make sure in your extrude options "selected" is bubbled under the Curve Settings. [edit] I misunderstood what you were asking for :poly142: If you are attempting to connect holes…
I'm a long time Max user who is trying to learn Maya 2010 for my new job. This has been bugging me for the past 8 hours. Why the hell can't I extrude two edges with the vertices already welded? I have to go back and weld every time! My geometry is leaking all over because of problems like this. It's not just with edges…
I've been working on a Tardis model from Doctor who and cant seem to progress around a baking issue im having. The model is essentially just a box with some extrusions here and there and yet whenever I bake it in either Maya or xNormal the extrusions simply do not come through in the bake. I've tried with cages, ray…
Hello I was trying to make a sort of sxtrusion on Zbrush but when I extrude a masked part on a curved and detailed already face it gets standing out with the same curvature of the base mesh under and the details also get extruded and curved , instead I would like ot extrude a part in flat forma , whit a almoust flat…
It seems that sometimes when I use xNormal to create a cage, some of the vertices don't extrude along any axis unless selected and manually extruded. What causes this?
