I like where its going an really like the concept, I do agree with AtticusMars the last reference I would say is definitely Japanese, Maybe look at some Chinese guardian lions, looking at chinese graves myself I have seen a few with them. -

i think the bbq pork skin need a bit more high frequency bumps to get a similar look to the reference. im surpise the chinese deli you went to looks that clean. usually the kitchen is that dirtiest place of the chinese restaurant. -

I adore that paintover! But put some trees onto those mountains, whenever I think of chinese mountains I think of those which are overgrown with trees (just put "chinese mountain" into google picture search, and you'll see what I mean =D) -
