Those of you who are working on new, next-gen titles; how often would you use a 4k texture? Do most characters today get a 4096 texture map? Or would that be overkill? Would it be common today to use a 4k texture on say a car/vehicle?
Hi there, can anyone share their experience with textures to be used with their models regarding licence ? Do you guys paint your own textures or are you using some textures stocks ? Do you have any bad/good experience. I would really appreciate your point of view. Thanks in advance.
Need to work on my texturing so I am doing a set of sci fi panels. Based on a concept of massiveBlack, but doing my own thing for the textures. Later on I will maybe put them together in UDK to get familiar with lighting and UDK, but for now just textures. First in the set: (don't mind the seam, gotta fix that)
Hi all, How much textures are too much for modern PCs given the new lines of GPUs in the market going with 2gb + video memory. Basically lets say if I have 8 1024x1024 textures in one map how much of a performance hit you will get from it. Note that everything in the map is made out of these textures only.
Hey everyone! This is a low res environment I've been working on to practice my texturing skills. The total polycount is 2371 tris and all textures are on 3 512x512 textures. Any crits/comments would be greatly appreciated! All textures are hand painted in photoshop. More images/detail shots are available Right Here!
Ive never came across this problem before, Just now as i decided to texture this model. :( The problem only happens when i put the texture on the model and render. If any one knows how to solve this problem, please tell me :) Thanks alot :) Also Never mind the shitty texture.
Hi, I would have a problem when I go to extract the texture a 3D model .fbx format. When I extract the texture is as if the vertex color ignores him and I always had a completely white texture. In your opinion what could be the problem? Thanks so much
I want to make the isolation walls as a textures for a UE4 scene, I don't know how to start or what to use this it's a bit more complex than the textures I'm used to make, would you scult it in zbrush and make a texture out of it? or should I learn designer? Thanks. This is my reference
Diver man! He goes to the bottom o' da seas doing diver man stuffs! He keeps me up late, and makes headaches! His textures are uninspired! BEHOLD! The texture is very shitty. I hope to improve on that. I'm happy with the model, but texturing gets me. Any tips for the textures, anyone?
Hello, I have a terrain texture that I want to paint an alpha texture on it. (The terrain texture is a beach and the alpha texture has some shells on it.) In Blender I can do that using projection painting. I could use the clone tool, but it is very complicated... Is there a way to do this in photohop? Thanks for help!…
