Personally I would just turn the IK off and forward animate the pedaling motion. IK looks better when there's a force on the end of the limbs. For free floating movement often FK is easier to get a realistic motion.
Hello. I have some problem with rigging in maya. I'm setting IK handle for leg, but its not work berry well. Its working like these picture. I did reset joint orientation, and reduce joint quantity. I don't know why IK handle work like these. I did checked its rotate plane solver. I hope i know the solution. I'm Korean, so…
Trying to troubleshoot a wrist JNT issue. On both IK and FK ctrls, the wrist acts like that, even though the weighting seems fine. Breaking connections on the Wrist Joint and re-Parent Constraining the Controls to the Joint makes it seem to work fine, but I lose the IK/FK blend. This rig was creeated using the DNS…

I will set it up so I can switch…
Hi, Relatively new Maya user, so this is likely a simple thing to fix. I am having issues with the swivel angle of an IK - it is bending out to the side, rather than keeping straight (for a knee joint) How can I adjust the angle of the bend? Thanks
Hi! I'll look into whether I have the latest IK/Fk plugin - certainly because this seems the best solution (IMO) and yet still a long way short of what I might call intuitive. Can I ask you to elaborate on that last sentence: 'we all still use IK/FK blend set up (it works and it's fast)'? Does this mean IK/FK blend system…
I have finally discovered the solution to my problem, or at least a work around, so I'll post it here for anyone else who struggles with the same thing. With the hand selected, I went to the motion tab and clicked 'create IKTarget' under Limb Animation. This creates the little IK cross symbol inside the hand. I then moved…
