Pior: ... but why the hell would they do that? Also, setting layers to 0% is fine and all that, but you can't tell at a glance which ones are turned off. I just colour every layer I turn off but might want to user later on red (right-click on the eye, choose your colour) Workflow win! France loses! edit: also, 'somehow'…
So I've been told before, to maximize my texture density is to overlap the same UV's. Now when I started doing this, I find 3DS Max takes a really long time to render out the final texture sheet and when it does, it's with the red errors being displayed. I've been looking for tutorials but I keep coming across ones where…
I've been designing my first Unity environment, but I am having trouble figuring out the size of everything. My raise and lower terrain are too sensitive, even at 0 opacity. Which makes me think my terrain is too small? But at the same time, I feel like my textures are small, making me feel like my terrain is too big (I'm…
Hey guys ! I share with you my Lighting work created for the DLC White Noise. I managed the lighting for Day and Night version on this modern Korean structure. Enjoy ! ;) More images on my Artstation : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/bRA4n
I like it, and props for doing the models yourself! Nothing major wrong with it at first sight, the rock formations look convincing and the distribution of foliage seems spot on for the most part, but perhaps you could play with a couple of different light situations, as midday and very little shadow are pretty difficult…
Latest: Had a crack at sorting the lighting out a bit, i'm liking it a lot more now but still not quite right. Having trouble getting the balance right between too much ambient light making it not seem like dusk/night and too little to see the detail. Made a mesh with an orangey rain material on for under the street lamps…
Hey all, So I'm trying to put together a sample level for our game's pitch video and running into some weird lighting problems. Its hard to explain so I'll just show the video: http://youtu.be/ry6RnuHFhLQ Basically as you can see, the light seems to get darker and almost black depending on the angle of the camera. If I…
A friend at work has shown me how to do this. You need to use a surfillum maya node to tell the ao shader to only show up in the shadowed areas. Really nifty for tuning your light rig right in the render view instead of having to composite it later. If anyone wants to work this way let me know and I'll post the shading…
Agree, the large tube is pulling my attention from the other surfaces. It would help to spend a bit more time on the bend at the right end of the large tube. Right now it doesn't read like a tube bent at a right angle. The rest of the wall looks really good, though I would expect some bloom on the bottom middle flat…
Okay, so how many of you cannot draw to save your life? Does it effect your 3D work in a noticeable way? THEN! How many of you CAN draw to save your life but started out not being able to draw at all and does that increase your 3D skill? My problem is that I have these ideas in my head but I cannot get them onto paper…
