Hi! Here's a couple of small environments I did about 1 year ago while I was studying in my 1st and 2nd semesters at Game Art and Design program at Centennial College in Toronto. It was fun working on it. I gained a lot of experience in 3d modeling/texturing and UDK. Hope you like it. Comments and suggestions are welcome…
Hello, Polycount! I'm one of devs of CremaGames a Spanish indie game studio and I'm working on a game called Immortal Redneck. I don't know if you have heard about it it's very early in development, so let me talk a little about it. Facebook | Twitter | Vine Immortal Redneck is an arcade FPS set in Epygt with…
It's been a while since I posted. Things have been getting busy! But without getting into too much detail, here's what I've been up to. So I figured out what was causing the weird lighting. It was because of how the normal map was being calculated in my triplanar projection material, because triplanar projection naturally…
On a cypress style of a tree with all the brunches growing up mostly I need a kind of cylindrical normals style and up and down in very top and bottom . Can Speed tree do it at all? With other kinds of trees it somewhat works by parent puffiness = 1 but nothing helps with cypress tree whatever anchor I chose . They are…
Hi all, I started learning how to create foliage and made a grass model aswell as a terrain for CryEngine3. So far everything works well and I'm kinda happy with the way it turn out, but one thing REALLY bothers me: Wenn I use this cover-material-with-vegetation tool (don't remember what exactly it is called) there is a…
Some things I noticed: The angle is really odd. Your lighting mainly seems to rely on an HDRI environment (of an empty office/industrial space?) rather than a studio setup. And if you did set lights, then the HDRI works against that. Some of the reflections seem to have little or no Fresnel falloff when facing the camera.…
https://github.com/sethmeshko/maya-rigging/blob/master/scripts/jfm_set_transform_limits.py Let me know what you think. BTW here is a youtube video on how to use it: https://youtu.be/zPPskDfbslk Thanks
Maybe I am approaching this completely wrong, but I can't figure it out how to apply alpha masks. When I apply a black and white mask to the "transparency" channel of a material (or a targa with alpha channel), the texture does become "cut out" but it also becomes half transparent everywhere and slightly darker, resulting…
Hey Guys, I've been using Maya at work for the last couple of years and have decided to start toying around with Max again at home. If you have an object on some strange angle and it has lost its transforms/Xforms, what is the fastest way to recover the correct pivot alignment permanently? I can quickly setup a working…
