Grass settings/fading grass out in distance

Hi all,

I started learning how to create foliage and made a grass model aswell as a terrain for CryEngine3. So far everything works well and I'm kinda happy with the way it turn out, but one thing REALLY bothers me:
Wenn I use this cover-material-with-vegetation tool (don't remember what exactly it is called) there is a really sharp line at the end of the field of view, which is really ugly.

Is there a way to make a smoother transition for that? Guess it has to do something with LODs but I have no idea about that.

Thanks for your help :D

Are you talking about the ability to procedurally place vegetation based on the terrain material? I've run into the same problem, but I didn't spend much time messing with it until I decided to just paint out my vegetation. I did notice that the issue happens with certain density levels, usually with higher densities(lower numbers).

But I'm pretty sure it's related to the terrain tiles? Have you tried generating the terrain again? It shouldn't be LODs since the grass is still showing farther away on the right.

Yes, that's what I'm talkkng about.
The problem with paintjng it manually is that for some reason I can't get the drnsity I want, even though the density is set pretty high (low numbers) it always leaves space between them.
I'll have a look at the tiles again, sounds like a good idea, even though generatimg the terrain again didn't help.

Looks like you're painting vegetation on to the terrian using the brush correct?

If so make sure to check the MaxViewDistRatio and make sure its a high enough number to display at the correct distances
