I made a model of a tree in maya, none of the branches are connected to the trunk of the tree via vertex, they are simply moved into place. I have combined all the meshes using the maya combine tool and exported to udk. When I apply my material it comes out half textured. Will I have to attach every limb of the tree via…
Hey guys, I posted a while back on a rigging problem and it was easily solved, so I'm hoping this is also an easy problem. I'm currently trying to blend a transparent object with something that is opaque, like painted glass. However, UDK doesn't seem to like that and I was wondering if it's even possible. I have my alpha…
I'm running the latest version of UDK on an another computer as before, and it worked fine on the previous machine, but it crashes on this, almost every time when I'm saving a package. Sometimes its also happening when I'm importing something. Anyone know why is this happening?
Hi All, So I'm trying to create a modular building set for a sandstone wall. I started with just a basic bare wall which tiles in Max: When imported into UDK it looks horrible, with some kind of lighting error like this: I don't want to move onto the other parts until I've got to the bottom of this so any help would be…
have you tried to snap the UV vertices to the pixels of the lightmap? make sure the lightmap has the same pixel size in your tool as it has in udk while you activate the Pixel snapping. those lines can occur because UDK has to try to fill half of Pixels which is a reason for those jagged Lightmap lines.
Heya all, Apologies if this is a copy of an earlier post. I did a quick search on the forums and couldn't find an answer. I'm having issues with the .psk skeletal meshes that I export from Maya 2010 showing up extremely faceted in UDK. I've tried several solutions, including creating a second UV set, as well as…
Hi everyone! I'm working on a scifi level in UDK. This piece is aiming for my portfolio so ANY critics is welcome! I got inspired by Deus Ex 3, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Syndicate, BRINK and the amazing architect Zaha Hadid. This is only blocking. Lighting and textured models are just for testing purpose. I just want to…
Yeah. Either way, to simulate the overexposed outdoors behind the wall you basically need a really bright sky. Because, as far as I know, UDK doesn't offer any kind of tonemapping functionality that would simulate a video camera. Here's what I quickly whipped up from the UDK daylight template. Tweaked diffuse boost and…
