Hello everyone, I'm currently struggling with a - it seems - rather simple problem: I'd like to merge the an object with 5 different elements, which all use a different texture/material, into one and get an according UVMap. I spent the last hour browsing the internet for a good solution to do this, but I couldn't find…
Hey guys! I want to share with you my latest project and I hope you like it :) Please check out the Artstation project link https://www.artstation.com/artwork/b4Awm By the way, I had the opportunity to write an article for 80.lv and detailed the whole production 80.lv Article…
Bit more blocking on the dropsy sculpt...another detail pass and polypainting tomorrow. Than It's some nifty retopoing followed by uvmapping in maya, material baking and photoshopping...one of my goals as well is to get comfortable setting up useable rigs as well so I'll probably set him up with a basic IK/FK system so I…
Ah so you wanna keep the textures too hmm, don't know any easy way for this other than make your own uv map by hand and bake the diffuse from the imported model untouched to your modified model uvmapped by you(the quality of the texture will degrade of course). The pack normalize is just a script in max 2012 which aranges…
I'm gonna be getting in at 10:30 AM on Friday. Anyone's studio or school want a Game Art demo/lecture? ZBrush, UVmapping, texture painting, Max 7 features, you name it. I will probably end up site seeing till I meet up with my bedma...er Roommate Tagheuer when he gets off work. But figured I would throw the offer out there.
Well the last mesh tweaks are done. @ 1850 polys' 3560 tris' 1882 verts' The hair is a mix between plane extrudes and solid 4 tri spikes. It came out surprisingly well, so im happy. I also deleted the hidden faces below the hair as i kept a solid plane base so it covers it ;) Anybody got any crit's before i move onto…
If the pieces arent merged, you can try copy pasting the uvmap but this won't work if everything is merged into one mesh because the vertex order is singificantly different on all copies because of the merge. My previous reply may sound a bit harsh but you need to improve your workflow, and my answer tells you how to…
The problem starts in 3Dmax, I have rendered to texture the highpoly model to my lowpoly model, and I get these weird artifacts (Look at the metal, top right) I've been told that they are bugs of using mirror in the UV of the axe: I though my UV was correct at first place, so my questions are anyone knows what is wrong…
Hello, this is my first post to polycount. I am 16 years of age and I have been practicing on a lot of 3d modeling and texture work for a while. I am currently working on a very low poly head for a game character that I wish to present and receive crits on. The head is 69 tris. I have only textured the face currently and…
http://www.rusteddreams.net/faogen.html I'm a long time lurker here, just thought I'd drop in and point out what might be a very useful app. Faogen is a free ambient occlusion baker that takes a uvmapped mesh in .obj or .lwo format and bakes results to a texture or vertex colours. Vertex colours are unfortunately output as…
